Lance Maney - graduated from Shepherd in 2008, played 2 years of basketball at Mid-Michigan CC.  Continued his studies at Central Michigan University and played on the Club Basketball team, graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Philosophy and a Masters Degree in Sports Administration. During his grad school years Lance coached the freshman boys basketball team for 2 seasons at Shepherd.  After graduation he relocated to south Florida where he continued to add to his coaching experience - coaching varsity boys at Donna Klein Academy and then varsity girls at North Broward Prep.

In addition to coaching Lance works in player development - training basketball players from young ages to professionals.  He recently started REAL Basketball in the Mid-Michigan area, hosting travel teams and training camps.  During the pandemic Lance made the move back to Michigan, taking the Sports Director position at Morey Courts and the boys coaching job at Shepherd. He says “It’s a special feeling coming home to coach at Shepherd where I went to school, and I’m really excited to get started."
